Pre-Use Safety Certification

Mandatory Pre-Use Equipment Inspection
Before any equipment is released from the smart-kiosk, the user must perform the following functional and visual inspections and certify the results within the GearDash application. Failure to complete these steps will result in the equipment remaining locked.
1. Lanyard Inspection (Singing Rock Phario Palm)
- Carabiner Function: Open and release both carabiner gates. Verify they snap shut and lock automatically.
- Shock Absorber: Visually inspect the shock absorber pouch. Verify the "integrity stitching" is intact and the energy absorber has not been deployed from a previous fall.
- Webbing: Run fingers along the length of both lanyards to check for cuts, burns, or excessive fraying.
2. Harness Inspection (Singing Rock Top)
- Buckle Tension: Verify that all buckles are "double-backed" and secure.
- Belay Loop: Visually inspect the belay loop for any signs of wear, discoloration, or thinning.
- Overall Condition: Ensure there are no modifications or unauthorized repairs to the webbing or stitching.
3. Helmet Inspection (Black Diamond Half Dome)
- Shell Integrity: Inspect the outer shell for deep gouges, cracks, or dents.
- Suspension System: Ensure the dial-fit system and chin strap buckle are fully functional and secure properly.
User Certification
By checking the boxes within the GearDash platform, I hereby certify that I have personally performed the inspections listed above and confirm that the equipment is in good working order.
I understand that by certifying this inspection, I assume personal responsibility for any defects that would have been discoverable through this process, and I release Denali Ventures LLC from liability arising therefrom. I further understand that my participation in via ferrata activities is contingent upon this confirmation of equipment integrity.
