Our Story

Why GearDash
Exists.

Mürren, Switzerland

My mom is from Switzerland — a country where via ferratas aren't a novelty, they're just how you spend a weekend. Growing up, she showed me what it means to move through the mountains on iron rungs and cables, trusting your gear and your feet.

When I discovered Ashley Gorge here in Utah, it felt like home. A real via ferrata — cables, iron stemples, a suspension bridge over a river canyon — tucked away in the desert and mostly unknown. One of Utah's best-kept secrets.

The problem was the gear. You couldn't rent it anywhere nearby. Without a harness and lanyard, you simply couldn't do the route safely. A lot of people were missing out on something incredible just because they didn't own specialized equipment they'd only need once or twice a year.

GearDash exists to fix that. Book online, pick up at the locker, climb the route. No guide fees, no shop hours, no hassle. Just you and the wall — the way my mom taught me it should be.

"Via ferrata should be accessible to anyone who wants to try it. All you need is the gear and the nerve."
